D 3 to the coast

Then we were two down to Southampton where I bid farewell to Alex until Patras (inshallah)! In the defence of the photographer space precluded a camera so all images are snapped with a low power Android phone or my kindle fire which is performing remarkably well to enable this blog!

Alex and I enjoyed the run into Southampton via the R Itchen Then it was onto the Solent along NCN 2 which is getting there (still some short stretches to resolve between Christchurch and bognor but the Solent is sorted with a brand new 3m track thro stunning countryside to the gamble where I took the first of 3 ferries ! The middle photo was actually the last onto hayling island where I called for the first time in the trip. Good evening out despite the Belgian defeat - funny places islands always seem to have a slightly lost quality about them which was no different on Hayling! The Mansfield Miner who had washed up there bought me beer and enjoyed a bit of Maggie bashing after the footie!
